Ministries
Lighthouse Church is about making disciples. Our focus is to move people beyond Sunday morning attendance, into vibrant relationships with Jesus and one another. That's why small groups are important. It's like welcoming people into your home. The "Sunday Service" is like the "Front Entrance" where people are met and welcomed. The "New Comer's Class" is like the "Living Room" where you start to get to know each other. Our goal is to get each individual into "Small Groups" which are like the "Kitchen." This is where the most intimate fellowship takes place and where "Covenant Relationships" are built.

Upon returning to Calgary in 1996, they joined the team establishing Lighthouse Church. Frank and Liz presently serve as Lead Pastors on the eldership team at the Lighthouse.

John and Leith are presently members of the eldership team at the Lighthouse.
Patti Smawley
Patti was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus at a very early age. She had the opportunity to serve as a missionary in India before launching into her career. She presently works within one of the city's oil and gas companys and has been a valued employee for many years. Patti, a gifted children's pastor, affectionately known as "Miss Patti," is a member of the eldership team at the Lighthouse.
Home Groups
Meeting in homes, in small groups, provides an opportunity for more informal fellowship. The purpose of a home group is to provide an atmosphere of caring and sharing. A place where a person can feel safe and have their needs ministered to. Home Groups are an important part of the ministry at the Lighthouse. If you would like to be involved in a Home Group please check our SCHEDULE.
Prayer
This ministry is led by Denise Hill. Every Wednesday at 10am we meet for prayer at the church building. Through this ministry, we have seen many answers to prayer. Please join us on Wednesday mornings and see what the Lord will do. Prayer requests are circulated by Denise via an email prayer network.
There is a "Men's Prayer Meeting" every Friday morning at 8am at the church building.
ESL - English As A Second Language
This ministry is led by Bettie Orchard. They meet on Tuesday nights at 7pm and teach English to new immigrants to Canada. The students come from around the globe (China, Vietnam, Korea, India, Russia, Mexico, Poland, Philippines, Croatia, Israel and Sri Lanka). We have been encouraged by the positive response to this opportunity in serving our community and sharing the love of Jesus in a practical way.
